What we collect when you book a stay, what we never collect, and who else touches it.

The short version. We collect your name, email, phone and your dates so we can arrange your stay. Your card goes straight to our payment provider, never to us. We set no cookies, run no analytics and sell nothing to anyone.
Farang Rentals is a trading name of Jumphot “Jason” Srisomsap, a sole trader in Bangkok, Thailand. That business decides how the information described here is used, and is responsible for looking after it.
For anything about your personal information, write to booking@farangrentals.com.
Only what we need to arrange a stay. There is no account to create and nothing to sign up for.
We keep the emails you exchange with us, so that your booking has a record and whoever answers can see what was already said. That includes your email address and whatever you choose to write.
Your card details go straight to our payment provider and are never sent to us. We do not see, handle or store your card number. What we receive back is confirmation that a payment succeeded, and a reference for it.
This part is short, and we would rather state it plainly than bury it.
We use what you give us to do the thing you asked for: check availability, answer your questions, confirm a booking, take payment for it, and get you into the residence.
The legal basis is that the information is necessary to arrange and perform the booking between us. Where we keep records after a stay, the basis is our legitimate interest in having a record of what was agreed, and our obligation to keep accounting records.
We use a small number of suppliers to run the site and the business. Each sees only what it needs to do its job, none of them may use your information for their own purposes, and each is bound by a contract with us.
Some suppliers store data outside Thailand. Where that happens, the information stays protected by that supplier's safeguards and their contract with us. If you want to know exactly who a particular supplier is, ask us and we will tell you.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, except where the law requires us to keep a record of a completed transaction.
Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act, you can ask us to:
Email booking@farangrentals.com and we will deal with it. We do not charge for this, and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you may complain to Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee.
The website is served only over an encrypted connection. Booking information is held in a database that is not reachable from the public internet and is opened only by our own server, using a secret key. Card payments are handled entirely by our payment provider, so the most sensitive information never reaches us at all.
No system is perfect. If your information were ever exposed in a way likely to affect you, we would tell you and the authorities, rather than keep it quiet.
This site is meant for adults arranging accommodation. We do not knowingly collect information about children. Children staying as part of a booking are counted as guests, and we hold nothing about them beyond that number.
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant and affects a booking you already have, we will email you about it rather than rely on you noticing.
